AnchorPoint is a personal college companion that brings your academics, campus life, career, and wellness into one place. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using AnchorPoint, you agree to this policy.
Information the app collects
AnchorPoint collects the information you provide and a limited amount of technical data:
- Account information. Your email address and authentication details, used to create and secure your account.
- Profile and academic information. Details you choose to add, such as your name, school, major, class year, courses, and preferences.
- Content you create. Items you add to the app, including schedule events, tasks and deadlines, grades, career applications and resume material, journal entries, and wellness check-ins.
- Google Calendar data (optional). If you connect Google Calendar, the app accesses only what is needed to read your events and write the events you create in AnchorPoint into a dedicated calendar.
- Usage and device data. Basic, privacy-friendly analytics about how the app is used and how it performs, used to improve it.
How your information is used
AnchorPoint uses your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the app and its features.
- Personalize your experience, including the AI coach and your daily plan.
- Send the reminders and notifications you have enabled.
- Keep the app secure and prevent abuse.
How your information is shared
AnchorPoint does not sell your personal information. It is shared only with the service providers that keep the app running, and only as needed to deliver it:
- Supabase hosts the database, authentication, and file storage.
- Anthropic powers the AI features. When you use the coach or other AI tools, your message and the relevant context are sent to Anthropic to generate a response.
- Google is used only if you connect Google Calendar, to sync your events.
Information may also be disclosed if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the app.
Data retention and deletion
Your information is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete your content within the app at any time, and deleting your account removes its associated data within a reasonable period, except where it must be retained by law.
Security
AnchorPoint uses industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Your choices
You can review and update your profile and preferences at any time, disconnect Google Calendar from settings, and delete your content or account whenever you choose.
Children's privacy
AnchorPoint is intended for college and college-bound students. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 18, use AnchorPoint only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
