Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of AnchorPoint (the "app"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The app
AnchorPoint is a personal college companion that helps you organize your academics, campus life, career, and wellness, including AI-assisted features such as a coach, study tutor, and drafting tools. Features may be added, changed, or removed over time.
2. Eligibility
AnchorPoint is intended for college and college-bound students. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. If you are under 18, you may use AnchorPoint only with the consent and involvement of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and act promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
- Attempt to access other users' data or disrupt the app.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the app or its providers.
- Use the AI features to violate academic integrity policies or to misrepresent your work or credentials.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you add to AnchorPoint. You grant the app a limited license to store and process that content solely to operate and improve it for you. You are responsible for the content you provide and for ensuring you have the right to share it.
6. AI features and disclaimer
AnchorPoint's AI features generate suggestions and drafts to support you. They can be wrong or incomplete and are provided for general guidance only. They are not professional, medical, mental health, legal, financial, or academic advice. Always review AI output and use your own judgment before relying on it or submitting it. In an emergency, contact a qualified professional or local emergency services.
7. Third-party services
AnchorPoint relies on third-party providers, including Supabase, Anthropic, and, if you connect it, Google Calendar. Your use of those integrations is also subject to the providers' own terms and policies. AnchorPoint is not responsible for third-party services.
8. Intellectual property
AnchorPoint, including its name, design, and software, is owned by its developer and protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to the AnchorPoint name or branding.
9. Disclaimers
AnchorPoint is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The app is not warranted to be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AnchorPoint and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the app.
11. Termination
You may stop using AnchorPoint and delete your account at any time. Access may be suspended or terminated if you violate these Terms or to protect the app and its users.
12. Changes to these terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. When they change, the date above will be revised and significant changes will be noted within the app. Continued use of AnchorPoint after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled in the courts located in that state.
